🔮 Bart's one of the village "uncle" figures. You can turn to him for any sort of magic advice, or even play some games of cards or chess with him, but don't expect him to have the answers to your hardest questions besides "Have you tried tinkering them away?" (legal disclaimer he doesn't condone actually making people disappear).
🔮 Bart is part of an ancient mainland (Bavarian) magic line, the Zaubermann clan.
🔮 He used to run a business with Ivor where they would find and restore ancient artifacts. They kept up this business for 11 years before Ivor ran off, and then Bart continued alone for 2 more years. The business lasted from when Bart was 18 until he was 31.

💲 Lottie never pushed Ivor down the well ("I have standards, you know!"), but she did take his disappearance as an opportunity to "humbly" take over his business until he hopefully returned. When he came back, however, she wasn't quite willing to give it back. Finders keepers!

🩺 Patch's parents named him after the dwarf (Doc) from Snow White, but accidentally sealed their son’s fate as a doctor.
🩺 Patch's family is from the delightful midwestern USA state of Minnesota. His parents have very thick accents, and so did he for a while.
🩺 Patch came to the island during his graduate studies as an immersive way to gain field experience.

📮 NEVER underestimate Fannie. She's a lot craftier than you would think. She purposely dumbs herself down in public so she can get away with practically anything.
📮 One thing Fannie almost got away with was sending Gretchen anonymous love letters. It took Gretchen a ridiculously long time to find the culprit.

🌈 Ivor Eike is a cryptic hint to the word “voreilig”, meaning rash or hasty.
🌈 Ivor's the other big "uncle" figure. He'll tell you one thing: what NOT to do (from firsthand experience).
🌈 Ivor ran away from the artifact business he and Bart ran to gamble and hopefully raise enough money to let him and Bart retire. Unfortunately, as is what happens to most gamblers, he lost everything and ended up at square one again.
🌈 Ivor was not pushed into the well by anyone. Rather, he fell in on his own. It was salt in the wound for his bad luck.
Petula

🐈 Petula is autistic and furs special interest is fashion! There's a reason fur seems to have a lot to say when you choose anything at Paper Pets for your pinata.
🐈 Besides autism, Petula also has social anxiety and depression.
🐈 Petula listens music from artists Avril Lavigne, Paramore, and Slayyyter. She also listens to a lot of 2008-2012 pop, scene, or rock music in general.
🐈 Petula's paternal cousin, Spot, helps her sneak out at night for island parties. He tries to get her to socialize with the people there but her social anxiety kicks in and she ends up hiding by the punch bowl the entire time.
🐈 Secretly, she enjoys romcoms. She doesn’t tell anyone outside of her cousin and his best friend in fear that she might get ridiculed.
